Consulting services for feasibility studies to construct a seaport in the Keta Municipality of the Volta Region is expected to begin next month, April 2020, Mr Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, Minister for Transport has announced in Accra.

He said the Government through the Ministry of Transport was going through the necessary processes to develop the Keta Port Project.

Mr Asiamah, answering questions in Parliament on the project said as of February 10, 2020, a number of activities were concluded or were underway at various stages for the project.

Mr Richard Quashigah, MP for Keta asked the Minister what plans the Government had to build a sea port in the Keta Municipality.

The Minister said a suitable site in Kedzi within the Keta Municipality was identified to locate the Port of Keta, and “this site takes a good developmental and commercial use of a pre-engineered system of parts of the Keta Lagoon.”
